Who We Are
The Centre for Youth Empowerment and Civic Education (CYECE) is a Malawian non-profit and non-governmental organization committed to advancing the rights, wellbeing, and development of children, adolescents, and young people. We believe that every child and young person deserves the opportunity to live a safe, healthy, and productive life while actively contributing to the development of their communities and country.
Founded on the principles of inclusion, participation, accountability, and social justice, CYECE works with communities, government institutions, civil society organizations, development partners, and young people themselves to create lasting and transformative change.
Child Rights Promotion
- Facilitate child development and reintegration activities such as early childhood development centres, child play centres, transitional centres etc.
- Promoting access to quality education for the children
- Promoting child Health and Nutrition
- Awareness on Water and Sanitation Hygiene (WASH) in schools, households etc.
Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and HIV
- Capacity building of youth clubs and networks for effective mobilization of young people for SRHR and HIV information and services.
- Supporting youth clubs and networks to mobilize young people for SRHR and HIV behavior change
Youth Empowerment and Participation.
- Facilitate entrepreneurial skills development trainings for young people
- Establish youth talent development and promotion programme for both rural and urban youth especially in sports, music, fine arts, spoken word, drama etc.
